Slow Ride

One of my all time favorite movie soundtracks is from the movie Dazed & Confused. It is just the best songs of the 70s and should be listened to on repeat :) So I was more than excited today when shopbop was featuring a Dazed & Confused lookbook and urge you to shop the "updated 70s looks". I am not sure you totally rock all of these items but they make me hear all the songs from the soundtrack and any pics that evoke that I love!

Bringing the Black Back

So every year that I can remember since I was 6 my mom would give my sister and I a new bathing suit as kind of start to our summer! I remember my first one was a little red one piece with blue polka dots :) Unfortunately, for my mom I never let a tradition die and therefore still expect my kick off to summer to be waiting for me on easter morning. This year I am not however hoping for a polka dot one piece....I think I am going back to basics this year with a staple black suit. Can you really every go wrong with black? I think not so.....below is my pick for summer!! Maya Bikinis are tiny, but wearable and in my opinion are the perfect suits to lounge in or frolic throwing your frisbee in the sand (hehe if your the frolic type of girl that is!)

**p.s. I am well aware that Marisa Miller makes this suit look mildly insane!**

Model Approach

There are multiple reasons you could be obsessed with Miranda Kerr. She is ridiculously gorgeous, she is Australian, she is dating Orlando Bloom, she is a Victoria's Secret Model.....the list goes on and on. What I am most obsessed with though is her ability to look completely effortless with time less, but trendy pieces. I have needed (yes I said needed ;) the Mahina Louis Vuitton she is carrying below for quite sometime and now the XL version comes in Elephant Grey!! Maybe the Easter bunny will bring me it in my basket this year? Also, take a look at her short black motorcycle boots. Usually Spring and Summer call for putting away the boots, but the short version allows to not put away our favorite little stompers!

Cotton Tails

For a second the other day I thought maybe I was past the age of gettting excited by easter baskets filled with yummy chocolate bunnies, but then I came across Sprinkles Cupcakes for Easter and decided I was definitely not past the age of excitement. I swear this company never fails to meet perfection. Anything that has a little pink bunny on it and is filled with sweet butter cream is up my alley. Add a little mimosa with this cupcake and I am all set!
**P.S. They call these HOP cupcakes :) love it!**

On a Roll & A Sucker for Packaging!

I think I am on a roll today because I just keep seeing amazing items. I have been in love with D.L. & Co. for awhile. Their candles and home accessories are always floating around the likes of Barneys, Bergdorf', and your local favorite Home store. They describe their company as this... "d.l. & co., was born of the desire to bring objects of opulence and beauty to those who yearn for the uncommon and exquisite. every item designed is intended to unfold like a love letter, each detail revealing a procession of small delights". I would buy ANYTHING that was described with that description. Unfolds like a love letter??? Ridiculous! Take a look at the packaging & the names of everything, love it!

The paper/stationary company was founded in NY in 1929 and is made with special formula luxury paper and hand engraved dies. They make everything from bookmarks to pencils to personalized stationary and everything is just perfect. It seems like you should be writing with a feather on your pen when writing on this paper. Soooo pretty take a look! These all make great gifts!

As Long As She Doesnt Talk

Ok so Megan Fox is undeniably pretty ridiculous looking, however not to be a hater but have you ever heard her speak? Its really unfortunate it takes the pretty almost away. Well....I thought that and then I saw these pics of her and the pretty is back because I cant hear her I guess! She looks amazing in these True Religion Joey Cut-Offs as does Audrina Patridge. I recently had an event to wear a cowgirl outfit (dont ask) and I tried on quite a few pairs of cut-off shorts. The True Religion Joey Shorts were by far the best. They are the right length and dont cut off weird portions of your leg. Love them and highly recommend them. Not so sure I look like these girls, but still they are my fav!

Whose That Girl

When looking for pics of my favorite designer Kelly Wreastler, I came across a site for a designer name Kristen Hutchins. There is literally no info about Hutchins, but I absolutely loved the pic below featured on her "coming soon" site! How amazing is this room??? I am determined to find more of her rooms! :) Happy Friday!

Selective Denim

Ok so up until the last few months in my life I would have considered myself very "selective" about my denim. I have more denim in my closet then could possibly ever be needed in a life time and I always feel like the next pair is different than the last. In fact it was once said by an old friend " she would rather have a new pair of jeans then buy food". At first I was offended and then I realized she was RIGHT! Anyway, so I would never have suggested a pair of jeans from Arden B. before in past life, but then a few months ago I bought a pair of skinnies for $13 from Forever 21 and they are staple in my wardrobe. My jean snobbbery is slowly but surely beginning to lift. I am not saying to give up on your William Rast or Dylan George high end denims because they have their place as well, but I have decided so do some cheapies! Audrina Patridge is the new girl for Divine Rights of Denim sold currently at Arden B. I think these might be worth giving a shot if they look the way they do on her! Take a look :)

**Side Note what is up with her face! I think its the Restalin in her lips so strange looking!**

Not White Jeans

Ok so I am pretty obsessed with anything and everything that is The Beckhams, but a couple of seasons ago Victoria came out with DVB and it was subpar. With in less than a month you were seeing her DVB White Jeans with trashy blue stars on the pockets all over places like Nordstroms Rack and Loehmanns. Her new line simply named Victoria Beckham is on another level. The dresses are structure, feminine, completely out of my price range! They are so fun to look at though. Below is Kelly Ripa wearing her Victoria's blue dress from Spring 2009. How amazing is that exposed zipper, which is the length of the dress?

**Side note I have nothing against Nordies Rack & Loehmanns I have found some ridiculously good pieces. You just have to be willing to get past the messy hangers!**

Ms. Black's Obsessed

So a little Birdie sent me this link to SarahSeven's Shop on http://www.etsy.com/ this morning and I felt like she gave me a treasure map! SarahSeven makes handmade custom dresses that are soooo pretty!! The name's of the dresses make me even more obsessed with each piece and if anyone remembers the dress Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the Oscars, these evoke that same subtle mint color with layers of material. The price point is pretty similar to what you would pay at Neimans or Bloomingdale's but no one you know will have these little delectable delights!

Stuart IS Spring

I have always loved Jill Stuart's bags and shoes, but recently her new 2009 line is everything that emodies Spring. The colors and fabrics are nothing less than angelic. Her parent's being a major part of Sportswear Fashion in in the 60s and 70, Jill Stuart grew up with the likes of Natalie Wood and Lucille Ball coming to dinner at her home. Anyone who grows up with Lucy & Natalie Wood at their dinner table deserves a first, second, and third look at everything she is a part of. Her bags are insane from the fall as well! Cant you just imagine the parties you would go to in these little numbers sipping on a little Veuve! Love it!
